How Do You Survive A Zombie Attack* the Bruce Campbell way!

If you head over to MTV.com you can read some interresting tips on how to survive a zombie attack. All the genre icons are included (Sam Raimi, Quentin Tarantino, Eli Roth etc.) and ofcource the main man also has a tip:
"Mostly with regard to any zombie, all you have to do is run — because they can't move very quickly," agreed Bruce Campbell, the "Evil Dead" star who reigns as the most beloved zombie killer of all time. "And it's no use trying to speak to them, because they can't communicate. Just run!"

and
Although Quentin Tarantino is quick to dismiss the fleet-footed baddies ("Fast-running zombies," he scoffed. "F--- that!"), and Campbell insists, "A zombie is a zombie is a zombie," it's important to make the distinction between the loveable lumberers from the classics and the fast-running new-school zombies.

Raimi has my favourite insight:
"If the dead should rise, you're going to want to get yourself a shotgun, a chainsaw and someone to watch your back. It's also good to have a partner, so that they can get taken down first. And that makes you not only the survivor, but also the star of the show."

For the rest of the article go here and three clips by Raimi, Roth and Tarantine here (Eli Roth really though this one through :D )

Bruce at the Scream Awards!

Bruce recently hosted the award for 'Best Horror Film' at the Scream Awards and in typical Bruce style, took the oppotunity to throw a few classic one liner stingers Hollywood's way. To see Bruce in action click here.

Bruce also stopped on the 'black' carpet and was questioned about My Name is Bruce, Burn Notice and Bubba Nosferatu. It is sad to see his face when the interviewer indicates that fans will be miserable/angry about Burce turning down Bubba Nosferatu but good to see him talk about these things in person rather than read the comments in a magazine.

Evil Dead goes Porn

It seems a re-make of our beloved movie is underway, though a little different then I had expected. But I guess porn is a logical follow up after Evil Dead the musical. It'll go by the name of Evil Head and is made by the same guy who already did pornographic versions of Re-animator and The Exorsist (guess what they're called ;) ). Personally I don't know what to expect (and if I actually want to see this), but I'm guessing it will not be a story driven piece.
For more info you can go to Fangoria.com or the Evil Head myspace. On the myspace there's also a promo/trailer (don't worry there's no nudity or other naughtyness, but there is some evil language).

Fangoria says mid-2008

I don't know if I can take the waiting anymore, but according to Fangoria.com we have to wait a few more months: "...Image also confirmed that it will release the Bruce Campbell genre satire MY NAME IS BRUCE with lots of extras in mid-2008, with possible limited theatrical play scheduled to precede the DVDebut."

Mark says 2008

Ok here's a small update by Mark Verheiden, who says MNIB might be released in 2008. Unlike BruceCampbellonline which says it's this fall. [Wait a minute; it already is 'this fall']

"My Name Is Bruce - Smallish UPDATE
It's coming. Honest. Final version is almost locked and right now we're looking at a release in 2008, hopefully earlier rather than later. Lucky folks at this year's AFM (American Film Market) may actually get a peek at the final product...

Bruce Campbell. Guan-Di the monster. A cast of tens. Hillbilly singers. Dance numbers. The blacksmith guy from ARMY OF DARKNESS. You'll laugh, you'll cry (well, you probably won't cry), but forget that, because I'm telling you THIS MOVIE HAS IT ALL."

The Ultimate Evil Dead edition

Yes, finally some new BC news. Dvdactive reports that another Evil Dead DVD is on the way. This is a 3-disc set, though, seems to be the Evil Dead: Book of the Dead Edition disc, together with the 4th disc of the UK Evil Dead trilogy box set (which was the full frame version, btw also released with the Box of the Banned set) and an extra disc.

here are the full details:

Anchor Bay Entertainment has officially announced a 3-Disc Ultimate Edition of The Evil Dead which stars Bruce Campbell. This classic Sam Raimi directed film will be available to own from the 18th December, and should retail at around $34.97. Both anamorphic widescreen and full screen presentations will be included on seperate discs. The widescreen edition will include a commentary by Director Sam Raimi and Producer Robert Tapert, whereas the full screen version will include a Bruce Campbell commentary.

Other features include a One by One We Will Take You: The Untold Saga of The Evil Dead documentary, some new Treasures from the Cutting Room Floor, a Life After Death: The Ladies of The Evil Dead featurette, a Ladies of The Evil Dead Meet Bruce Campbell featurette, and an Unconventional featurette with the cast and crew. Completing the package will be a Q&A with a drive-in audience of hardcore fans, a Reunion Panel, a Discovering The Evil Dead featurette that looks at the British video release of the film, makeup tests, a Poster & Memorabilia Gallery, a still gallery, and the trailer.

personally, I don't think I can live with another double dip.
